Oliver Morgan burst onto the scene at the 2023 British Swimming Championships before earning his first Olympic selection after breaking the British Men's 100m Backstroke record in 2024.
Oliver followed up a hat-trick of British backstroke titles in 2023 by defending both the 100m and 200m Backstroke crowns in Olympic year, his time of 52.70 in the shorter event seeing him surpass the long-standing British best mark of Liam Tancock - and he will now be set for a busy summer in Paris.
His first victory at the 2023 Championships in Sheffield, the 50m Backstroke, saw him take the title by nearly half a second over the next best finisher. A victory on the touch in the 100m event soon followed, before another win in a similar fashion in the 200m Backstroke on the final day saw him become the only male athlete to record three British titles that year. It led to him making his World Championship bow in Fukuoka, where he recorded three top-10 finishes.
Morgan’s only other international experience came in the USA leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup late in 2022, where he recorded strong performances across the backstroke events.
