An 18-strong team of junior divers will fly the flag for Great Britain at the LEN European Junior Diving Championships this week.
It is the largest number of competitors that Great Britain has sent to the European Junior Diving Championships, which are taking place at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan, Russia, from Monday 24 June to Sunday 30 June.
More than 170 athletes from 25 countries are competing in the event, with Great Britain the largest team in attendance.
Scarlett Mew Jensen will spearhead the team, after claiming her debut senior individual British Diving Championships title in Edinburgh earlier this month; she will again look to win gold in the Women’s 3m Springboard. The Dive London-based athlete will look to build on the experience gained at the 2018 edition of this event, as she builds towards the World Aquatics Championships next month.
Just over 12 months ago the British team collected a total of 10 medals, two of them gold, over seven days of competition in the Finnish capital Helsinki. Ben Cutmore, one of the podium topping medallists, returns to the European Junior stage hoping to repeat his 2018 feat.
