Find out more about the host venue of the London 2019 World Para Swimming Championships, the London Aquatics Centre.
The pool was originally designed by Zaha Hadid and cost £251 million to construct in time for London 2012. It hosted 17,500 spectators for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events at the Olympics as well as the swimming events at the Paralympic Games.
The Aquatics Centre's spectacular wave-like roof is 160m long and is one of the iconic features of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Following the Games, the venue was reduced to 2,500 permanent seats, expandable to 3,500.
The 2019 World Para Swimming Championships continues part of the pool's ever-expanding legacy having recently played host to the finale of the 2019 FINA Diving World Series.

Public transport is the best and easiest way to get to and from the Park, either by train, underground, bus or cycle.
- The nearest underground stations are Stratford (10-minute walk) and Hackney Wick (15-minute walk)
- There are more than 140 cycle racks outside the London Aquatics Centre, including a Santander Cycles docking station located outside the centre.
- Stratford International station is just a 5-minute walk away
- St Pancras International & Kings Cross stations are just seven minutes away by train to Stratford International
- The M25 is only a 25 minutes drive away. There is plenty of parking available at nearby Westfield.
