The final day of the British Gas Synchro Championships 2014 saw explosive performances across the domestic and international entries.

Jacqueline Simoneau and Karine Thomas of Canada won gold in the international duet thanks to great height in their figures and an impressive double lift which showed excellent synchronisation, receiving an impressive score of 87.4667.

The Netherlands' Christina Maat and Margot de Graaf performed a dynamic routine with clean and crisp leg movements to secure 81.1333 for silver while the second Dutch pair of Liza Foppen and Mirthe Kuperus scored 77.9667 for bronze.

- Corrie Leech

Bristol’s Corrie Leech had a particularly successful event, winning five golds and one silver.

“It’s been a phenomenal competition for Corrie who’s played a large role in helping Bristol achieve six out of the team’s seven medals," said Shortman. "She’s had an injury to contend with and suffered with flu recently so she really has gone above.”

Leech added: “I really don’t know how I’ve done it. This year’s competition has been so different from last year when we were coming second and third in every event

"I’ve really tried hard in training and have been really pushing myself so that I can put everything into my performance.”
