British athlete Genevieve Randall is happy to be one of the busiest synchronised swimmers at the European Games.
The 17-year old is entered in four events in Baku and ranked 10th in today's solo free routine preliminaries with a score of 76.2333.
Randall is also competing alongside Jodie Cowie in the duet and taking part in both team events and is looking to better her individual event 14th at last year's European Championships.
“It was a two-mark improvement from my last solo," she said, after finishing her routine. "I recently choreographed a new one, so the aim was for it to be more suited to me so that I could express more during the swim.
"Though it’s a competition where we will be competing in more events than we would in Rio, potentially, it’s great because it means we have to keep on the ball and our fitness has to be great, because we have to keep up with all the other programmes.
"It has been different to what we would do in a normal synchro aquatics competition. Because you are just with synchronised swimmers and you’re all the same age, so it has been really nice to meet other athletes at the village and it feels like good preparation for what Rio will be like."
WATER POLO
The GBR Women's Water Polo team took on Germany in their second group match of the European Games and lost 8-10 in a hard-fought battle,
In the first match the British Under-17 team went up against Greece, one of the top six teams expected to contest the medals in Baku, and lost 20-2.
