Synchro team achieve standard for European Games

Great Britain has achieved the qualification standard for the 2015 European Games (Junior) in Baku after a successful competition in Istanbul.

The team, drawn from the England Talent Synchronised Swimming Squad, finished fifth overall after impressive performances throughout the competition.  

GBR secured bronze after receiving 76.8667 points in the Team Free and a combined score of 145.2408 to finish third behind Belarus (152.3318) and France (149.9497).

The routine, which was swum to a theme of magic, showcased the athlete’s speed and strength in the water and their hard work to improve their elements.

Genevieve Randall and Jodie Cowie finished sixth in the Duet with a combined score of 144.3002. Randall also took to the water in the Solo and finished in seventh place with a combined total of 144.3197.

Jorja Brown was the highest placed British athlete in the Figures, finishing seventh with 72.354 points.

The European Games takes place from 12-28 June 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
