Synchros prepare for first international event

The new-look British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming Team have been putting the finishing touches to their routines as they prepare for the French Open.

The 12-strong team have been in Ostia for a preparation camp ahead of competing at their first international together.

The Brits will competing in the Duet Free, Team Free and Combination throughout the three-day meet and will be looking to showcase everything they have learnt through the winter.

The athletes will now train in the pool in Paris ahead of the competition which takes place from 20 – 22 March.

National Performance Director Biz Price commented: “The mentality and maturity of the athletes has been impressive as they have put their focus into their training and the competition.

"We had a training camp at the London Aquatics Centre which allowed us to get a really strong block of training in ahead of the competition.

“The French Open is a good opportunity for us to show the work that we have put in over the winter months and I will be expecting the athletes to raise their performances here in Paris.”
