World Championship synchro medallists Matty Lee and Lois Toulson claimed the second spot in the Mixed 10m Synchro and will depart Edinburgh with silver.
Lee and Toulson served up an action-packed list of dives in front of a home crowd at Edinburgh's Royal Commonwealth Pool which saw them end the final with a points total of 307.80, just 1.83 off the European Champions.
Their final dive, a Back 2 1/2 Somersaults 1 1/2 Twists Piked (5253B) scored a huge 75.84 to guarantee a podium finish.
At the conclusion of the final Lee explained, "We usually use this event as a warm-up as it's normally much earlier on the schedule but not this time, it's been good for me to get out there today ahead of my individual event tomorrow, the 10m Platform."
Toulson then added, "The championships have been great for me, I've got two medals so I'm pleased with that but obviously I would've loved to get gold today with Matty but as I always say that is the nature of sport.
"There's plenty for me to take away from this event and into next season. It's also been great to compete at the first combined European Championships, it's a great concept."
The British pair were joined on the podium by Nikita Shleikher and Iulia Timoshinina of Russia, they topped the podium for gold with a score of 309.63. Bronze went to Germany, Floria Fandler and Christina Wassen after they scored 278.64.
