Olympic champion Matty Lee will swap Back 3 1/2 Somersault Pike dives for Bushtucker Trials when he appears on the upcoming series of ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

Lee, alongside synchro partner Tom Daley, provided one of the most memorable Team GB moments at Tokyo 2020, as the pair produced a stunning display of diving to secure Men's 10m Synchro gold by a dramatic 1.3 points. Earlier in the year, the duo had triumphed in the Diving World Cup at the same Tokyo Aquatics Centre venue.

Now, Matty's usual surroundings of the London Aquatics Centre will be switched for Gwrych Castle in Wales, where he will be part of the I'm A Celebrity line-up heading into camp, with each of them looking to be crowned the next King or Queen of the Castle.

Multiple Paralympic medallist Kadeena Cox, former BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin, ex-footballer David Ginola and television presenter Richard Madeley are among the 10-strong line-up that has been named ahead of the competition kicking off on Sunday (21st November) at 9pm.

"Nothing ever prepares you for what life will be like after you do well in the Olympics. I was and still am mainly in shock that I am doing I’m A Celebrity," said Matty.

"My two childhood dreams were to win an Olympic medal and take part in my favourite TV series. And now I am doing both this year!

"My family is buzzing about it all. We were on the way back from the airport where they had picked me up from Tokyo when I got a call about the programme. When I told Tom, he was in shock too! He is so excited for me and he has always been so supportive and helped me a lot over the past three years."

In 2013, double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington came sixth in that year's series of I'm A Celebrity.
