Britain's divers kicked off their 2024 World Aquatics Diving World Cup campaign in the same form that saw them to a record-breaking World Championships just last month, with the British team securing six medals across three days of action in Montreal.
Beginning with silver in the Mixed Team event - courtesy of Tom Daley, Yasmin Harper, Anthony Harding and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix - the Brits were busy on the podium in Canada, following that team success with five medals in Olympic events.
Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding claimed Men's 3m Synchro silver, a result that was matched in the Women's 10m Synchro by Spendolini-Sirieix and Lois Toulson. Laugher and Harding's standout moment came with a brilliant fourth-round Inward 3 1/2 Somersaults Tuck (407C) that contributed 81.60 points towards their final tally of 410.64, while Toulson and Spendolini-Sirieix saved their best for last, notching 75.84 points for their Back 2 1/2 Somersaults 1 1/2 Twists (5253B) on the way to 301.14 for that silver.
There were further medals for Jack and Andrea as they won individual Men's 3m Springboard bronze and Women's 10m Platform bronze respectively, Andrea nailing a clutch closing Back 2 1/2 Somersaults 1 1/2 Twists (5253B) for a massive 86.40 points to leapfrog her into third, while Daley and Noah Williams followed up their maiden international medal together from Doha with bronze in the Men's 10m Synchro.
The results put the GB cohort in a strong position to qualify spots in events at next month's Diving World Cup Super Final in Xi'an, China, even before the second leg in Berlin (21st-24th March).
"The team has performed really well in the face of such a quick turnaround after the World Championships in Doha - there was clearly an amount of residual fatigue there from that, but everyone was so resilient," said British Swimming Associate Performance Director Tim Jones.
"It's really important for us to keep on putting some strong performances out there in the eyes of the judges in an Olympic year - and to come away with six medals, and five of them in Olympic events, is further testament to the progress the programme is making.
"It puts everyone competing in the World Cup events in a strong position to make it all the way through to the Super Final already."
