10 Sep 2015

A year to remember for Siobhan-Marie O’Connor who enjoyed success on both a domestic and international stage.

She began her year with year with four medals at the British Swimming Championships including golds in the 200m Individual Medley and the 100m Freestyle.

Siobhan-Marie O'Connor conquered the global stage in 2015 after taking down the Commonwealth last year to become Britain's most successful female swimmer at the Kazan World Championships.

Commonwealth champion in the 200m Medley, O'Connor took bronze in a historic world final before once again forming part of Britain's 4x100m mixed medley relay team to add the global title to their European crown in a new world record.

After her first medal she said: “I’m so happy to win bronze. I just really wanted to come here and win a medal so I’m chuffed to bits to come away with one.

“That last length really hurt but I just had to try and dig deep to hold on really.

“From the start of the season until now, the focus for this year has been to come here and swim well. The team are doing really well and we’re off to a great start and I’m really pleased to be part of it.”
