Jones leaves Aquatics GB after Paris successes

21 Jan 2025

Associate Performance Director Tim Jones has left his role at Aquatics GB following a 12-year career with the organisation.

Jones said: “I feel the time is right for me to leave Aquatics GB to pursue a new challenge in my career. The last 12 years have seen us achieve so much, and I am extremely proud of my contribution to all of these successes, never more so than at the Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games this past summer, leading the diving and para-swimming teams to some historic results.

"I have particularly enjoyed my interactions with all of the athletes, coaches and support staff, and remain eternally grateful for their work ethic, desire and diligence. It is, however, an appropriate time for a change in direction.”

Drew Barrand, CEO of Aquatics GB, added: "Tim has performed a variety of roles during his time at Aquatics GB over the last 12 years. He oversaw a transformational change to our swimming pathway programme before taking the lead on diving and para-swimming heading into the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, both recording excellent results. On behalf of the organisation, we thank him for his efforts and wish him well in the future."
