Triple world champion Adam Peaty has been unveiled as a contender for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year once again – and now needs your support in recognising his historic achievements.
The breaststroke swimmer, who was included in the 2014 shortlist, made history this year when he became the first man to complete the 50m and 100m double at the World Swimming Championships and then helped the British mixed medley relay team win gold.
Adam, who trains at City of Derby under Mel Marshall, also became the holder of three world records in 2015 - the 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 4x100m mixed medley relay.
The 12 contenders for this year's award were announced on the BBC’s One Show last night with the winner set to be revealed during the live Sports Personality show in Belfast on Sunday 20 December.
People can show their support for Adam by voting on the night via the phone or online during the programme which will be screened on BBC One, with further coverage on BBC Radio 5 live and the BBC Sport website.
Adam will be in action again this week as part of a team of 12 flying the flag for Great Britain at the LEN European Short Course Championships in Netanya, Israel.
He is joined by World Champions Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, Robbie Renwick, Fran Halsall and Chris Walker-Hebborn who will bring their impressive year to an end against the best in Europe.
Adam made further history today when he became the first British athlete – male or female to win Swimming World’s Male Swimmer of the Year.
