Science in Sport on board as new Aquatics GB Sports Nutrition Partner

18 Mar 2025

Aquatics GB is excited to confirm a multi-year partnership with industry leaders Science in Sport (SiS) as our official Sports Nutrition Partner.

The new collaboration will run through to and beyond the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Science in Sport supporting our elite aquatic athletes’ nutrition and recovery programmes, all in the name of aiding their ability to train and perform at the highest levels.

Science in Sport are the world's leading performance nutrition brand, using high-class research and innovation to formulate evidence-based products that truly impact performance - with Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens and British Rowing among their existing elite partners.

Speaking of the new partnership, Aquatics GB CEO Drew Barrand said: "We are very excited to be partnering with Science in Sport, a brand we know will have a hugely positive and innovative impact on our athletes' journeys over the next four years. Their standing in the world of sports nutrition is a symbol of our ambition to build on the exciting performances of our teams in recent years, as well as the work already being done by our own world-class sport science teams, and we look forward to working together, in and out of the water."

Dan Lampard, Chief Operating Officer of Science in Sport, said of the partnership:

“After an incredibly successful Olympic and Paralympic games in Paris, we are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to partner with Aquatics GB to help further their success over the next 4 years, a key period that will cover major events such as the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in and two World Aquatics Championships. We are uniquely positioned to support some of Team GBs most successful athletes with tailored nutrition, as well as providing education to the wider Aquatics GB community.”

Aquatics GB Head of Physical Performance Richard Chessor will be collaborating closely with the SiS team as preparations for this season build into this week's Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, the subsequent Diving Championships and then the back-to-back World Aquatics Championships and Para Swimming World Championships in Singapore from July to September.

Chessor said: "I'm really excited about the partnership between Science in Sport and Aquatics GB, and we see this as a really good opportunity to drive forward a number of our nutritional strategies in the LA cycle - and I certainly don't think that's just limited to nutritional supplementation strategies either.

"The product portfolio that SiS has is absolutely fantastic, it's really well-suited to the needs of our sports and it's got a real strong performance focus to it. But what I'm particularly excited about is the ability to connect the Aquatics GB nutrition team to the Science in Sport nutrition team, to harness a lot of that deep understanding and then help us apply that to our populations, and get some of the benefits from the collective insight of the SiS team across a number of different sports to ensure that we are still world-leading with our nutrition service provision.

"So it's incredibly exciting that we've got a fantastic, well-trusted, performance-focused partner and are really looking forward to sharing the output, not just with our World Class Programme athletes but across a much broader range of aquatics athletes throughout the pathway."
