More British age group records fall in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke on the second day of the British Summer Championships 2018 in Sheffield.

Cameron Williams of Dartmoor Darts broke his second 14 years age group record of these Championships, this time in the Men’s 50m Breast his time of 30.27 puts him in the centre lane tonight to contest the medals.

Warrender Baths Club swimmer Archie Goodburn then lowered the 17 year old British age group record in the same event. 28.24 secured him the preferred lane four for the final.

Lawrence Palmer of Putteridge saw off an eighteen-strong field in the 19/Over age group and ranked first after the heats.

Millfield School’s William Mitchell will go in search of his second gold of the meet, he took the title in the 16 years 100m breast on day one and will be looking to replicate his achievement over one lap of breaststroke.

Havant and Waterloo swimmer Austin-Slade Jeffery was the fasted man over 50m Breaststroke in the 15 years age group and will lead the field out in search of the medals.

Day two of the British Summer Championships 2018 opened with the Women’s 100m Backstroke heats.

Ealing’s Ekaterina Avramova will lead the way into tonight’s final after she topped the rankings in the 19/Over age group. Hot on her heels will be the City of Manchester’s Chloe Golding and last night’s 400m Individual Medley gold medallist Laura Stephens of Plymouth Leander.

Lily Bosely of the City of Sheffield served up a strong swim in her home pool to put herself top of the pile in the 17/18 years event and will line up behind lane four for the final. Ranked second after the heats was Alicia Wilson of Guildford City and third was Woking’s Anna Maine.

Back in action on was Rachel Anderson of Millfield, fresh from her gold medal performance in the 200m Freestyle, she will take command of the 16 years final.

Plymouth Leander’s Honey Osrin posted the fastest time of the morning for the 15 years age group and will take control of this evening’s final from the centre lane.

Emily Iley of Borough Waltham Forest almost matched her 100m Backstroke PB and ranked herself top for this evening’s 13/14 years final.

Aberdeen Performance swimmer Thomas Beeley distanced himself from the pack to post the quickest time of the morning in the 19/Over Men’s 200m Butterfly.

Archie Goodburn of Warrender Baths posted a time just short of his lifetime best but goes into the 17/18 years final as the fastest man, he’ll will be looking to lower that time and secure a podium finish.

Charlie Hutchison claimed a 400m Freestyle silver on day one of the 2018 summer championships and after he ranked top of the 16 years 200m Butterfly heats he will be looking to go one better and make it gold this evening.

Northampton SC swimmer Edward Mildred was back in action and will be hoping it’s double gold by the end of the second competition day, he posted a new personal best of 2:02.04 topping the rankings in the 15 years age group.

Michael Kimaszewski of Hatfield SC claimed bronze in the 400m Freestyle and he topped the 13/14 years rankings to put himself in the mix for another medal.

Alice Tai (S8) who trains out British Para-Swimming National Performance Centre in Manchester set down a marker in the Women’s MC 100m Backstroke as she posted a points total of 912 to book herself lane four in the final.

Paralympic champion in the S12 category, Hannah Russel ranked second after the heats, her points total 819. Nova Centurion’s Sophie Pascoe (S10) placed third with 814 points.

In the Men’s MC 100m Backstroke heats, Pembrokeshire County swimmer Rhys Davies (S14) topped the board with 845 points after stopping the clock in 30.36.

Fellow S14 Jordan Catchpole of the City of Norwich swimming club achieved a total of 834 and Stephen Clegg (S12) of the City of Sunderland followed in third place with 830 points.

Katie Matts of Stockport Metro was the fastest athlete in the 19/over age group of the Women’s 200m Breaststroke, over in the 17/18 years category City of Sheffield’s Amy Bell was lead out the medal contest from lane four after her gold in the 400m Individual Medley on day one.

East Kilbride’s Yvonne Brown is in charge of the 16 years final after she ranked top amongst a 21-strong heats line up.

Carys O’Reilly topped and 15 year age group and Olivia Herron of Stockport Metro booked herself into lane four of the 13/14 years final.

Loughborough University swimmer Daniel Cross was almost second faster over his nearest rival in the Men’s 19/Over 100m Backstroke.

Joseph Small of Ellesmere College will lead the chase for the medals in the 17/18 years final, with Jacob Davies of the City of Birmingham taking up the role in the 16 year old final.

City of Oxford’s Nicholas Skelton edged out the 100m Backstroke gold medallist Mark Ford of the City of Glasgow by 0.02 of a second to touch first and top the heat ranking in the 15 year age group.

Hendrik Van Der Leest of Woking takes lane four in the 13/14 years final after posting the fastest time of morning.

Women’s 50m Butterfly 2018 British Champion, Harriet Jones of the City of Cardiff, stopped the clock in the quickest time and is the number one qualifier for the 19/Over age group final.

Poole’s Jasmine McCrea topped the 17/18 years age group and Sophie Yendell of the City of Derby is in charge of the 16 years age group going into the finals.

Maisie Elliot of the City of Leicester swimming club took 0.2 of a second of her personal best and ranked herself top for the 15 years finals.

Colchester swimmer Sophie Freeman went more than a second quicker than her closest rival in the 13/14 years age group and will lead the hunt for the medals tonight.

The Women’s MC 50m Butterfly heats featured just two athletes both S6 and both of Northampton SC. Paralympic and Commonwealth Champion Eleanor Robinson touched first to achieve a point’s total of 970.

Teammate Maisie Summers-Newton, who is set to make her international debut at next month’s European Championships finished 673 points.

Andrew Mullen (S5) of the City of Glasgow was the sole swimmer in the Men’s MC 50m Butterfly and racing against himself set a points total of 673.

The day two heats session concluded with the Women’s 800m Freestyle, seven heats were swum with the final and fastest to be raced during the finals session this evening.
