British Swimming has sent its condolences to the Canadian swimming community following the sad loss of Canadian National Coach Randy Bennett.
Randy was the Head Coach of the Swimming Canada High Performance Centre and his loss will be felt by all across the global swimming community.
The 51-year-old had been head coach of Canada’s top senior national teams at every major international competition since 2009, including the 2012 Olympic Games. He had been head coach at the HPC-Victoria since 2008. HPC-Victoria swimmers and Olympians include Hilary Caldwell, Alec Page and Ryan Cochrane.
British Swimming’s head coach Bill Furniss said: “This is very sad news. He was a top guy and coach, and I know he will be missed throughout world swimming.”
