A strong group of 12 athletes has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Junior Marathon Swimming Championships in Piombino, Italy.
The squad has been selected following performances at the World Junior Marathon Swimming Championships held in Hoorn, Netherlands earlier this summer.
Distances of 5km, 7.5km and 10km races will be contested over the six-day event.
Marathon Swimming Lead Bernie Dietzig, said: “We have already seen some strong junior performances this year and this bodes well ahead of the European Juniors in Italy.
“As well as experienced open water swimmers the team includes some new athletes to the international stage. This is really exciting and we are confident that we have a good team that will be competitive at the European Championships.”
