London 2012 Olympian and European Championship gold medallist Daniel Fogg has been named as the new assistant head coach of Hatfield Swimming Club.
Fogg has been a key figure of distance swimming in Britain since he broke through into the senior ranks in 2009 at the FINA World Championships in Rome.
After finishing fifth at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the 10km open water he will take a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to the club.
Hatfield head coach Janko Gojkovic said: “Dan has had a long and successful swimming career. Coping with pressure, focusing on skill and athlete development. These strengths will now be passed on to all our swimmers and I believe these are the most important ingredients of a successful programme.
“Balancing pressure, hard work, motivation, and self-management are just some things Daniel, as an Olympian will be able to help us with.
“Our coaching team will also be able to better understand what is required at the top which will help them do their part in supporting our swimmers on their development pathways.”
Dan will begin his new role at Hatfield by the end of June.
Very happy to announce that I will be joining @HatfieldSC as assistant head coach. Cannot wait to get started in a few weeks time!
