British Swimming is offering a unique and exciting development opportunity to coaches as part of a partnership with Japanese Swimming and a strategy towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
As part of the project a group of 14 people, including eight swimmers will attend either the Male or Female National Development Camps in Japan from 11th-23rd December 2015. Two coach places for the trip are now open to application. One is available for a female coach to attend the female camp and one place being available for a male coach to attend the male camp.
“This will be a fantastic opportunity for two coaches to totally immerse themselves in a very different swimming philosophy and culture,” explained British Swimming Head of Performance Pathway Tim Jones.
“By putting in place an application process, we are casting the net both far and wide, and hope to receive plenty of interest from a large group of coaches who can articulate the value of such a unique experience".
Coaches wishing to apply should submit a 1 page A4 (maximum) application outlining why they feel they would be a suitable candidate and how they would seek to maximise their development if successful.
Submissions should be submitted by email to sarah.kennedy@swimming.org, no later than 14th August 2015. The successful applicants will be informed no later than 4th September 2015.
If you have questions about the project or this opportunity please see Tim Jones during the British Summer Championships (28 July - 2 Aug).
