Olympic Champ Peaty leads the way

18 Apr 2017

Olympic Champion Adam Peaty leads the way to the final of the 100m Breaststroke on the opening day of the British Swimming Championships.

Peaty (National Centre Loughborough) was in charge throughout his heat as he showed his class with an excellent swim. He is followed in to tonight's final by Olympian Ross Murdoch and Craig Benson (University of Stirling).

The world record holder was the first to touch at the 50m mark in the final heat and carved out a further lead through the final 50m.

Olympic medallist Stephen Milne (Perth) leads what looks to be a close final in the 200m Freestyle. He is one of five athletes all within touching distance of that victory tonight.

Milne is ahead of Max Litchfield (City of Sheffield), Tim Shuttleworth (National Centre Loughborough), Nick Grainger (City of Sheffield) and James Guy (National Centre Bath).

Eleanor Faulkner (City of Sheffield) leads the way in the 200m Freestyle, Hannah Miley (Aberdeen Performance) sits in command in the 400 Individual Medley, Joe Elwood (Loughborough University) is in the lead in the 50m Backstroke and Sarah Vasey ( National Centre Loughborough) sits in charge in the 50m Breaststroke.
