A mix of young talent and experienced swimmers have been selected to take part in the first European long course event of 2018.
Sixteen British swimmers have been announced in the team for the Luxembourg Euro Meet 2018 which takes place at the National Sports and Culture Centre d'Coque between the 26th and 28th of January.
Now in its 20th year the competition attracts many of Europe’s top swimmers in the first major event of the calendar.
The meet will be one of the last chances for squad members to hone their arena skills prior to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games – the last opportunity being at the Edinburgh International Meet incorporating the British Championship being held in March.
Head Coach Bill Furniss OBE, said: “This meet is an important one for many reasons – it’s the first long course competition of the year for our swimmers and will help develop the arena skills to succeed on the international stage.
“We have goals in mind for each of our swimmers so will be working to ensure everyone has the chance to work on individual aspects of their race plans.”
