Paralympian Gemma Almond has announced she has retired from competitive swimming after a career that spanned almost two decades.
Almond competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games and won a medal at the 2011 European Championships in the 200m Individual Medley.
She announced she was moving into the next step of her career at the end of May after spending almost a decade at the top of her sport.
So everything is clear/out in the open. On Saturday I retired from competitive swimming. It has been an incredible 16 years in the sport...
