Ollie Hynd MBE is a Paralympic, world, European and Commonwealth Champion and is one of the few athletes in the Para-Swimming world to hold all of those titles at the same time.

This
year saw Ollie excel at both the IPC Swimming European Championships and the
Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. In Funchal Ollie secured three golds and a silver
medal but it was in Brazil that Ollie really hit the headlines. He won the
swimming team’s first gold medal when he broke the world record in the 400m
Freestyle and later retained his gold in the 200m Individual Medley while also
lowering the world standard.
The winner of the Para-Swimming Athlete of the Year award is decided by our panel of judges and will announced during the British Swimming Awards in London on 5 November.
