This is the second time she has been awarded this title, having won back in 2013, previous winners have included Paralympic Champion Eleanor Simmonds (2008) and Olympian Adam Ruckwood (1997).

Last year Tully rose to top of the para-swimming podium after taking six world medals including four golds at the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow.

This year Kearney is vying for that all important spot on the ParalympicsGB team that will head to the Paralympics Games later this year. She will be returning to Glasgow this April looking to qualify at the British Para-Swimming International Meet for her Rio spot.
